Pepsi Max Commercial – A Humorous Take on the Difference Between Men and Women

When it comes to the difference between men and women, it really does seem at times that they are from different planets. While all men aren’t exactly the same and neither are all women, it is true that the majority of them share a lot of the same basic characteristics. One of the biggest differences between most men and women is what’s important to them when looking for a partner. It’s this subject that makes one of Pepsi Max’s commercials so funny. In this commercial, the viewer gets to spy on what’s going on inside the head of a man and woman during their first date. To hear the inner dialogue in their heads, watch the ad for yourself –

As you can see in the ad, while they’re both enjoying a meal from the same restaurant, their minds are in two totally different places. For the woman, a lot of different thoughts are going through her head about this man she is getting to know. These thoughts include how much money does he make, does he live with his mother, does he lose hair, does he want kids and is he the one. While these are legitimate questions, they are all quite serious and focused.

The humorous turn of the ad comes when it switches to what’s going on inside the man’s head. Instead of having a laundry list of questions about this woman, he’s only got on thing on his mind; I want to sleep with her!

Doritos Pug Super Bowl Commercial is a Success

Filed under: Superbowl Commercials - 12 Feb 2011  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

When it comes to companies running Super Bowl commercials, Doritos is currently on a hot streak. Last year, the ads they ran during the big game were well received. After a company has a successful year of commercials, it’s common for them to be off in terms of their ads during the next year’s Super Bowl. However, Doritos avoided this problem by delivering another very popular commercial. While this commercial is actually fairly simple, it’s so cute and fun that it’s hard not to enjoy it. Check out what Doritos did to make another big score with this ad –

One of the strengths of this ad is that not only is it entertaining and memorable, but it actually does a good job of featuring Doritos chips throughout the ad. Far too many companies are so focused on making a funny commercial for the Super Bowl that they forget to make their product noticeable during the advertisement. While it’s great to have a commercial that people like, it’s not going to do nearly as much for your company when people only remember the ad and not the company that ran it.

Throughout the course of this ad, the main actor is holding up a bag of Doritos. Most of the commercial’s shots alternate between showing him and showing an adorable pug running towards the door. As the pug gets closer, you can’t help but worry about him a little bit. However, the commercial ends on a funny note that literally puts the pug on top!

Chrysler Does Well with Eminem Super Bowl Commercial

Filed under: Superbowl Commercials - 11 Feb 2011  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

During the 2011 Super Bowl, one of the commercials that stood out was Chrysler’s advertisement. While Chrysler has had its struggles over the last few years, Chrysler made an intelligent decision to focus on more than just itself in this ad. Instead of only talking about Chrysler, they took the opportunity presented by the ad time to talk about Detroit.

If you were a major corporation, who would you want as your representative for the city of Detroit? If you were like Chrysler, the answer would be Eminem. At first, this seems like a very controversial choice. However, despite how you may feel about Eminem or the lyrical content of his music, there’s no denying that he is the perfect example of a true success story. Eminem began his life in one of the worst areas of Detroit. Through sheer willpower and hard work, he was able to turn himself into a superstar that is now known across the globe. Because Chrysler’s commercial is all about giving hope to Detroit, Eminem was the perfect choice for this ad.

To see why so many people are buzzing about this Super Bowl commercial and saying that it’s extremely powerful, watch it for yourself right now –

As you can see, the commercial doesn’t try to sugar coat what Detroit has been through. Instead, it explains that all of the city’s struggles have made it a stronger place. Thanks to its narration, slick editing, use of the song “Lose Yourself” and powerful ending featuring Eminem, this is one Super Bowl commercial that made a big impression on most of the people who viewed it.

CareerBuilder Super Bowl Commercial – Funny, but Still Controversial?

Filed under: Superbowl Commercials - 10 Feb 2011  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

There were quite a few disappointing commercials during this year’s Super Bowl. Fortunately, not all of them were flops. One commercial that stood out to many people was CareerBuilder’s. The reason so many people liked this commercial is that it was very funny without being too over the top in its humor. Watch this Super Bowl commercial now and chances are you’ll laugh at least once –

The commercial begins with someone pulling into a parking spot at work. As they’re grabbing their stuff, a car begins pulling in behind them. When this car pulls in to a spot, it wedges in right next to the first car. Obviously disgruntled, the driver of the first car tries to talk to the other car. However, we suddenly see several chimpanzees hop out of the other car. As the driver of the first car tries to slide over to the other side of his vehicle, a chimp driving another car not only slams into the back of his car, but wedges him in on that side as well. Thanks to the presence of the chimps and the defeated nature of the driver, this commercial is definitely effective at making people smile.

Unfortunately for CareerBuilder, this Super Bowl commercial is not free from controversy. While there’s nothing in the commercial itself to upset viewers, many chimp activists are not happy by the inclusion of these animals in the ad. The reason is because they feel that using chimps in a silly ad downplays the fact that chimpanzees are currently an endangered species.

Justin Bieber Super Bowl Commercial Shows Off His Sense of Humor

Filed under: Superbowl Commercials - 09 Feb 2011  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Justin Bieber gets made fun of a lot. From websites dedicated to his haircut to comedy skits about the “Bieb,” it’s amazing how many jokes are made at his expense. However, even though Bieber is still just sixteen years old, it seems like he’s taking it all in stride. Not only does he continue to increase his fame across the globe, but it appears that he’s not letting any of the jokes get under his skin. In fact, as showcased in this year’s Best Buy Super Bowl commercial, he seems just fine with joining in on cracking the jokes. Check out Bieber’s Super Bowl commercial right now –

When you first start watching this commercial, you may think you’re viewing the wrong one. This is because the commercial begins with Ozzy Osbourne. For the first few seconds of the commercial, it seems like the focus is going to be on a 5G phone. However, it quickly becomes apparent that this commercial isn’t actually about a 5G phone. Instead, the commercial is promoting Best Buy’s offer to buy back pieces of technology that have become outdated. The joking nature of this commercial is confirmed when Bieber takes the spotlight and holds up a 6G phone while saying it’s “Bieber 6G Fever.”

However, Bieber’s joking doesn’t stop there. In the next frame, Bieber is standing by Ozzy and his wife Sharon. However, instead of looking like a heartthrob, he looks like a strange older man. When Ozzy asks “What’s a Bieber,” this version of Justin replies “I don’t know, it kinda looks like a girl.”

Kim Kardashian’s Hot Super Bowl Commercial

Filed under: Superbowl Commercials - 08 Feb 2011  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

There’s no denying that Kim Kardashian is one great looking woman. She’s so good looking that she has built an entire career around her looks. Specifically, Kim is best known for one very big “asset.” While many people criticize the fact that she rose to fame as a result of an infamous tape, she has definitely made the most of it. From being on the cover of countless magazines to starring in multiple reality shows, Kim Kardashian has turned herself into a household name.

Because Kim is so well known for her physical assets, it should come as no surprise that when a company decided to feature her in a Super Bowl commercial, that’s what they put their focus on. Check out Kim in this sizzling Super Bowl ad –

As you can see from the very beginning, neither Kim nor Sketchers held back in showcasing her physical attributes. The commercial not only kicks off with several very close up shots of Kim’s body, but it also puts her in a position that gets people’s attention. With sweat dripping off of her body, Kim starts talking directly into the camera.

As the commercial continues, we get to see more of Kim’s body. Around twenty seconds in, the camera pulls back to put her most famous asset on display. Although this commercial doesn’t do anything revolutionary or even very creative, it does do a good job of highlighting Sketchers product. Because their Shape Up shoes are all about enhancing women’s backsides, there’s no better woman to show off this product than Ms. Kardashian.

Did Groupon’s Super Bowl Commercial Cross the Line?

Filed under: Superbowl Commercials - 07 Feb 2011  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Now that Super Bowl Sunday has come and gone, many people are talking about Green Bay’s dominance over the Steelers throughout the game. However, more people are talking about the commercials that aired during the game than the game itself. While there were some flops, there are plenty of commercials that people thought were quite entertaining. However, in addition to the flops and the commercials that stood out above the rest, there is a lot of buzz about one of Groupon’s commercials. While buzz about a Super Bowl commercial is usually a good thing, in this case, it’s not turning out to be such a good thing.

The reason so many people are offended by Groupon’s commercial is that they feel it exploits a very sensitive issue. The issue in question is Tibet. Currently, Tibet is in an ongoing struggle for freedom. Riots and protests have been a common occurrence in Tibet since 2008. As a result of these outbursts, China has continued to attempt to exert its rule by any means necessary.

With that setting the stage for the current state of Tibet, the beginning of Groupon’s commercial seems reasonable. The first eleven seconds of the commercial show the beauty of Tibet, as well as acknowledging the struggle of its people. However, it’s at this point that most agree the commercial crosses the line. Not only does the commercial suddenly make a joke about the state of Tibet, but it goes on to say that at least people in the US can enjoy Tibetan food for half price when they purchase through Groupon. Watch the commercial in its entirety to see if you agree that it crosses the line –

Rango Super Bowl Commercial Trailer

Filed under: Superbowl Commercials - 06 Feb 2011  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Because of the high cost of securing an advertising slot during the Super Bowl, movie trailers normally don’t get very many of these slots. However, each year there are a handful of movies that the studios feel are going to do really well in theaters. For these cream of the crop movies, they get a big bump in publicity by having one of the slots during the Super Bowl devoted to showing their trailer. This year, one of the movies that is getting that level of exposure is Rango.

While it’s name may sound strange, Rango has all the components to be a major hit. For one, it stars Johhny Depp. However, the twist is that Depp never appears on screen. Instead, it stars his voice. This is because Rango is an animated movie. Rango, which is the character voiced by Depp, is a chameleon. Rango’s dream is to be a hero. While this seems like a farfetched dream, Rango suddenly finds himself in a Western town that is being overrun by bad guys. In order to save the town, Rango needs to make his dream a reality. To see what Rango looks and sounds like, here is the trailer that will be aired during the Super Bowl –

Given Depp’s success with the Pirates of the Caribbean, it should come as no surprise that the studios are banking on this movie to perform well. In addition to being a family friendly PG movie, it also features some other big stars. Other actors lending their voice to this movie include Timothy Olyphant (Justified), Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine) and Isla Fisher (Confessions of a Shopaholic).

Diddy in Super Bowl Commercial

Filed under: Superbowl Commercials - 05 Feb 2011  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Although he is the butt of a lot of jokes, it’s hard not to be impressed with Diddy’s career. He began his career as a talented producer. Over the last two decades, he has been the producer behind countless hit songs. While this would be enough for most people, Diddy wasn’t content to stop there. He made the jump to being an artist by creating many successful songs. In addition to being a talented producer and musician, Diddy has also had multiple reality shows, launched his own clothing line and even made the leap to acting on the big screen.

Not only has he made a significant amount of money from all of his other endeavors, but because of the strong brand he has created around himself, he has also done very well endorsing products. While his most notable endorsement is Ciroc Vodka, he has now teamed up with Mercedes Benz. And since it is Diddy, it should come as no surprise that he’s teaming up with them in a big way. Diddy is front and center in their Super Bowl commercial. Watch the Mercedes Benz Super Bowl commercial for yourself –

As you can see in the commercial, it begins on a mysterious and intriguing note. As the commercial progresses, the viewer gets more drawn into what’s happening. Diddy makes his first appearance around the middle of the commercial. The commercial then continues, hits its main selling point, and then finishes off with a humorous second appearance by Diddy at the very end.

Volkswagen Super Bowl Commercial

Filed under: Superbowl Commercials - 04 Feb 2011  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

For several decades, Volkswagen was mainly known for one vehicle – the Beetle. While the company has been very successful with this vehicle, over the last decade or so they have done a very good job of not only offering a wider range of vehicles, but also rebranding their company as a higher end option.

One of the big reasons they have done so well at rebranding their company is because of their use of television ads. And when it comes to TV ads, none are bigger than Super Bowl commercials. Given the recent trouble that many other car companies have had, it makes perfect sense for VW to keep moving forward in an attempt to persuade even more people to purchase one of their vehicles. Although we’ll have to wait until the Super Bowl to see the widespread reaction to their ad, it looks like it’s going to be received quite well. Watch the ad to see what you think of it –

Kids and dogs are always effective ways to get people to respond to ads, and this Super Bowl commercial has both of those things within the first 14 seconds. Add to that list the Darth Vader costume on the little boy, and you have a component of the ad that will appeal to the countless Star Wars fans watching the Super Bowl.

As you watch this commercial, it’s almost impossible not to smile. Additionally, thanks to a great looking car with an impressive feature and appealing price, it seems like this is going to be a Super Bowl commercial that will perform very well for Volkswagen.
