The Superbowl is the main championship game of the National Football League in the United States, an event which gathers millions of people every year. Whether they watch it live, or in front of their TVs, the Superbowl became world famous. The Superbowl commercials also contribute to the worldwide fame of the event, because they are very well done. The Superbowl commercials are not always successful, though, but one thing is for sure: all Superbowl commercials are extremely expensive. In 2009, the average costs of Superbowl commercials reached $2.5 million, for a 30 second advertising spot, but this figure will definitely increase in the upcoming future. Throughout the years, the Superbowl commercials have generated a lot of fuss, as everyone is anticipating and talking about them. This 1973 commercial featured the New York Jets quarterback, Joe Namath. Other renown companies that had Superbowl commercials are Coca-Cola, Nissan, Xerox, Master Lock, McDonald’s, Snickers, Chrysler and Disney. Most of these Superbowl commercials became successful because international icons have starred in them. To mention a few, we have Eminem, Michael Jordan, Abe Vigoda and Larry Bird.
